Franklin D. Roosevelt

Franklin D. Roosevelt | Nonfiction | Laura Hamilton Waxman | No Awards | ages 8-10 |

One of the greatest presidents of the United States, FDR, is shown through this book, teaching us about his role in a tough time of our nation: the Great Depression and World War II. We learn about him before presidency, the presidents he looked up to, and much more during his presidency.

This is a perfect book to use during history for it combines facts in a wording children and anyone can understand with ease, and pictures/graphics that help students visualize what they are learning. If there are more books like this about every president, it'd definitely be a cool collection to have for your students grades third to fourth grade, though even students of higher levels can take advantage of these resources. They are helpful not just for learning about the presidents themselves, but the events that happen in their time. FDR faced a lot of problems in his presidency and we learn here more about them. The book is great to reflect about the responsibilities of being president and learning what life is like for them.
