Harriet Tubman, is known for helping her people to freedom, escaping slavery much like how Moses sent his fellow people free from the Egyptians. In this story We see how Harriet Tubman converses with God throughout the book where she finds encouragement in Him and strength. A spiritual journey which will help her on her mission to escape slavery herself and as many people she could afterwards.

An impacting picture book that informs the reader of who Harriet Tubman was and her journey to freedom. I'd love to use this book but be more careful who my audience is. If it's a public school, I'd say stay clear to avoid any problems with parents. Other than that, it's truly a great read for preschool to third grade. You can discuss the feelings of Harriet and ask them to describe her. Make comparison with her and Moses from the Bible.
